4minute’s HyunA would rather be cute than sexy?

HyunA confessed on the April 28th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Entertainment Relay‘, that she would rather be cute than sexy. After being voted as the sexiest member by Jiyoon, Jihyun, Gayoon, and Sohyun, HyunA commented, “It’s the first time the members have called me sexy. Thank you. But now, I’d rather hear that I’m cute than sexy.”
She was later voted as the laziest 4minute member as well, and explained, “It’s because I need to sleep a lot. I’m really sorry,” making everyone laugh with her sudden apology.

4minute’s HyunA gives Sohyun a back hug

Sohyun revealed a heartwarming photo of her and group mate HyunA. On April 27th, Sohyun tweeted, “Today, HyunA unnie is MCing for ‘Music Bank‘! Kim MC. You must watch today’s Music Bank.”
The members look like sisters as HyunA stood behind Sohyun, giving a warm back hug.
Followers commented, “4minute jjang,” “So cute, yet so sexy,” and “I will watch today’s Music Bank!”

Jihyun‘s high school graduation photo has been revealed.

On April 25th, the above photo was uploaded on an online community board with the title, ‘Jihyun exudes confidence in high school graduation photo’.
Jihyun’s long, straight hair held back by a headband well showcased her milky smooth skin and innocent charm. Netizens were impressed to see that though the photo was from a few years back, Jihyun still had the same appearance with the exception of her new hairstyle and stage makeup. What mainly caught fans’ attention was Jihyun’s curves which were accentuated by her white button up.
“I did not know she had such a nice body“, they wrote, along with “I think the 4minute members have the best bodies out of all girl groups.”

Jiyoon and Gayoon posted an adorable, comedic photo from Japan, where a special broadcast of ‘M! Countdown‘ took place.
Jiyoon uploaded the photo on April 25th and tweeted, “We are in Japan. Gayoon said her legs hurt so Jiyoon has transformed into a chair!”
The two girls of 4minute definitely look like stars in big sunglasses and flashy stage outfits, but their silly pose gives away that they’re still young kids at heart. Gayoon is seen sitting on Jiyoon’s legs, and both are smiling brightly as they show their playful side and sisterly bond.
Followers who saw the photos commented, “The members sure play well together,” “They are so cute,” and “Is Jiyoon showing off her strength? Or is Gayoon that light?”

Ladies of 4minute transform into mysterious Spring women for ‘High Cut’ magazine

The ladies of 4minute transformed into mysterious ladies of Spring, displaying their feminine yet classically sexy appeals.
Through a recent photo shoot with ‘High Cut‘ magazine, the girls displayed all of their charms for their ‘feminine, yet fierce’ themed photo shoot.
Different from their bold sexy on-stage image, the girls displayed their seductive charms in a more subtle manner wearing white and ivory ensembles for the shoot, alluring their fans with their mysteriously languid poses and stares.
In one cut, HyunA and Gayoon stole the breath of the staff members with their senuous charms, HyunA dressed in a backless one piece, and Gayoon in a low cut top that also revealed her midriff.
During the interview that took place after the shoot, Gayoon remarked, “We shot our MV with a snake, and the snake actually defecated on my dress. It is traditionally said that such an occurrence brings forth wealth, so I decided to optimistically think that our album will do well.”
The members also chose their efficient ‘teamwork’ as their best trait as a group. When asked if they had never had any discord amongst the members, HyunA remarked, “Of course we had small problems here and there, but we really don’t remember the small things. We fight like old women. We call each other by the endearing pet names we have for one another, and we try to word things so that none of our feelings would get hurt.”

4minute’s Jiyoon sings live despite being sick

4minute‘s Jiyoon is reported to have gone on singing live despite suffering a cold.
The 4minute member has been making visits to the hospital during the past two days for her severe cold symptoms. However, in all of her performances, including KBS‘s ‘Music Bank‘ performance on April 20th, Jiyoon has been hitting her high notes without relying on lip-syncing.
Jiyoon is in charge of singing the highest notes in “Volume Up“. While many idol groups rely heavily on the instrumental accompaniment during difficult portions of songs, Jiyoon has been singing her parts live 100% ever since 4minute’s first performance.
During an interview with OSEN on April 20th, Jiyoon stated, “My throat is in really poor condition. However, I am trying my best to demonstrate powerful vocals during our performances.”

4minute’s HyunA is “fertile”?

4minute‘s HyunA was a guest on the April 20th live broadcast of SBS‘s ‘100 Million Quiz Show‘.
The quiz question asked was, “Which physical characteristic makes you live longer if you have a lot of it on your body?” The two answer choices were: moles or hair.
Host Kim Yong Man hinted, “A research team from a foreign university conducted this study on 900 pairs of twins. The results found that if you have an average of 100 or more of this on your body, you would live six years or more longer than a person who doesn’t.”
Upon hearing the question, HyunA commented, “I have a mole right below my eye so I’m hoping that the answer will be #1.” Comedian Kim Ji Sun, who has four kids of her own, commented, “They say that if you have a mole right below your eye, you’ll be very fertile.” HyunA seemed pretty excited at the prospect of having a lot of kids.
Meanwhile, the correct answer was revealed to be “moles”. Others that participated in this week’s recording were 4minute’s Sohyun, MBLAQ‘s Mir and Lee Joon, Hwang Hyun Hee, Ahn Moon Sook, and more.

4minute looks chic and stylish for ‘Cosmopolitan’ magazine

Popular girl group 4minute showcased their various appeals for the May issue of Cosmopolitan magazine.
The girls pulled off a variety of looks for this particular photo shoot, from bohemian to edgy biker, showcasing their sexy charisma in each photo.
During the interview that took place after the shoot, the girls remarked, “A lot of people tell us that we are a bunch of ‘tough’ girls, but that’s probably the biggest misunderstanding we hear.”
“To be honest, all of us have a lot of aegyo,” they continued. “Especially members HyunA and Jiyoon.”
In regards to their comeback, the girls said, “It’s hard, but we are excited that we get to comeback after so long and meet with our fans.”

HyunA comments on fitness for ‘Sure Fit’ photo shoot

4minute HyunA‘s toned and fit body was featured in a shoot for style and fitness magazine, ‘Sure Fit‘.
On April 19th, a staff member from the shoot shared, “Every movement HyunA made with her long, slim arms and legs portrayed her unique, fit sexiness.”
When asked about her flexible hips and toned legs, HyunA answered, “Ever since I was young, I liked dancing and hiked with my father every day. Maintaining good exercising habits is the key. I can feel my energy draining dramatically if I don’t exercise so I walk frequently, and even when practice ends at 6 in the morning, my members and I all go to the nearby 24 hour fitness center.”

4minute‘s Sohyun revealed a friendly selca with BtoB‘s Ilhoon.
On April 18th, Sohyun tweeted, “With Cube 94 Ilhoon. Ilhoon. You [put your head] too forward,” and shared the above photo.
The picture showed Sohyun and Ilhoon posing close to each other with bright smiles. Sohyun’s tweet revealed her friendship with fellow Cube Entertainment label mate Ilhoon, who was also born in 1994.

4minute’s “Volume Up” tops major Chinese music video chart!

4minute, who have been making waves in the industry with their comeback track “Volume Up“, have added another record to their list of accomplishments by topping a major weekly music video chart in China.
“Volume Up”, which was released on April 9th, reached number 1 on the weekly chart of China’s largest music portal site, Yinyuetai. The music video for the hot track generated huge amounts of interest from viewers, topping streaming and download charts.
The upgraded performance and stage that the girls showcased in the music video gained applause from many fans in China, further indicating a successful comeback. Reaching the top of the Yinyuetai chart is especially significant in that it reflects directly on the popularity of a music video based on the number of downloads as well as views.
In related news, 4minute won first place on the April 17th episode of MBC‘s ‘Show Champion‘ within a week of the release of “Volume Up”.

Girl group 4minute revealed that the snake in their new hit ‘Volume Up‘ music video represents the hateful comments from Netizens.
One associate from 4minute’s company, Cube Entertainment revealed, “‘Volume Up’ is about how girl groups face a lot of criticism and hateful comments online. The members having horrifying creatures such as the snake and the skull wrapped around themselves signifies that the girls despite receiving criticisms will ambitiously work hard to achieve success.”
The song expressed the worries of girl groups through its honest lyrics. ‘At first you, who couldn’t take your eyes off me, now you call me easy behind my back, I’m going crazy, now they say I’m done, now there’s no place for me“.

Cube Entertainment artists celebrate the opening of ‘Cube Studio’

Cube Entertainment has announced that they have opened the doors to a new personal studio for their artists to mark the start of a brand new adventure together!
On April 10th, CEO Hong Seung Sung and his artists, 4minute, B2ST, G.NA, and BtoB all gathered to celebrate the opening of ‘Cube Studio’. Leaders from each respective group stood alongside their CEO to cut the tape for the grand opening. Although Cube Entertainment was established in 2008, this will be their first private studio where they will be using it as a foundation for their global marketing strategies.
Hong Seung Sung stated, “I created this place to instill a sense of bravery in our artists to help the Korean entertainment industry become one of the best. I hope that this studio will be the start of K-Pop transcending Asia and taking place all over the world.”
‘Cube Studio’ will be aiding singers and musicians to better grow and advance with their skills. The studio will include facilities dedicated to the areas of vocal, composition, performance, production, and choreography training. A special cafe for artists to be able to sit down and communicate with their fans will also be included in the studio. All profits from the cafe will be donated to charities of the company’s choice.
He continued, “Without communication, nothing can be achieved. I want this location right here to be a stepping stone in advancing the entertainment industry.”
Doojoon also stated, “I’m grateful that a lot of people came and are anticipating a lot from this. Three years ago, Kikwang came as the only trainee, and has now become a member of so many new artists today. This deeply moves me.”
Jihyun concluded, “By seeing more family members join and the company grow, I’m filled with thoughts of working even harder. Please look forward to BtoB and 4minute’s broadcast activities.”

4minute’s ‘Volume Up’ comeback tops the digital charts

4minute‘s comeback album is already taking over the charts just a day into its release!
The girls made their long-awaited comeback with the digital release of ‘Volume Up‘ along with their music video, which immediately dominated portal search rankings and digital charts. Currently, the song has topped charts like Mnet, Soribada, and Bugs, and is ranked within the top three on others. 4minute has always been strong digitally, so it doesn’t seem like the girls were gone for a whole year!
Fans all over the world have been abuzz with the girls’ comeback, trending the news on social network accounts and recording explosive views and comments on the music itself. Most noted are Gayoon‘s use of a live snake in the music video as well as HyunA‘s scene with a Doberman.

The girls recently released their first teaser video featuring a gothic set that looks like a castle from the Dark Ages. Starting with individual cuts of the members, the camera pans to a full view of the beautiful set, which has a tall ceiling that allows in just the right amount of light.
The intricate details alone are enough to captivate the viewers, which makes it the perfect set for 4minute’s vampire theme, leading to more anticipation for its full release.
The mini-album will drop on April 9th, but until then, expect more teaser videos to come.

4minute shares a picture with studio collaborators The Koxx

4minute recently took a photo with studio collaborators The Koxx, a Korean indie band known for their iconic dance-and-rock fusion sound. The Koxx has produced one of the girls’ new song titled “Dream Racer”, which is a light dance pop number that merges the girls’ infectious charm with the band’s unique electronic sound. The pop-meets-indie collaboration is marked as a significant step forward not only in extending 4minute’s musical horizons, but in pushing artistic boundaries of idol pop music as well.
Meanwhile, 4minute will return to the K-Pop scene with the release of their new EP “Volume Up” on the 9th.
